BP25-Week 8 POLL

Well we are halfway thru the year and its time to shuffle the deck on the Top 10, we have some teams that have earned their way either with undefeated records or a tough loss, so lets start the talkin' here is the Top 25:

#1 Texas 6-0 Beat Oklahoma 45-35 Next up: #12 Missouri
This team is legit and seems very relaxed, which is scary RB Chris Obychewbacca is for real and somebody bring Colt McCoy back to earth! This is the first of a really tough 4 game stretch with Missouri, OSU, @ Texas Tech, we will find out if these Horns will stay at the top, but all kidding aside this is the best football team in the land....right now.

#2 Penn St. 7-0 Beat @ Wisconsin 48-7 Next up: Michigan
What a thrashing they gave Wisconsin, that was the nail for the Badgers. The Lions are preparing for the trip to Columbus in two weeks, and will plow thru the Wolverines this week. Evan Royster and Darryl Clark are for real.

#3 Alabama 6-0 IDLE Next up: Ole Miss
Bama the next three weeks faces a easy stretch of the schedule and is poised to take over the top if one of the top 2 sneeze. Julio Jones is difference maker for this team and all the hype is supported.

#4 Ohio St. 6-1 Beat Purdue 16-3 Next up: @ #14 Michigan St.
They have a solid but not flashy game against Purdue, but that defense is suffocating and they took care of overrated Painter and company. Terrelle Pryor for president he reminds me of Vince Young when he started to take over. The next two weeks of the season will determined if Ohio St. warrants this top 5 spot with the Spartans and Nittany Lions waiting. They better not take Ringer lightly.
#5 BYU 6-0 Beat New Mexico 21-3 Next up: @ #18 TCU
Another workmanlike performance and now finally we get to see if they belong. I think I have them a bit high, but they have only allowed 7 TD's all year and are averaging over 30, The barometer is this week as they go to Ft Worth and try to beat the Frogs. The BCS panel will be all over this one.

#6 Texas Tech 6-0 Beat Nebraska 37-31 Next up: @ Texas A&M
This team can score whenever it wants to, my Huskers gave them a game but don't get the wrong idea Tech is a machine and will show it off again against the horrible Aggies this week.

#7 Georgia 5-1 Beat Tennessee 26-14 Next up: #24 Vanderbuilt
Solid performance against Tennessee and will put Vandy back to who cares bunch this week.

#8 Oklahoma 5-1 Lost Texas 35-45 Next up: #15 Kansas
My #1 Sooners took the loss in the Rivalry but this is still a good football team, and if they have a Tex/OU hangover Jabba and Boba Feesing will be ready to pounce.

#9 Florida 5-1 Beat LSU 51-21 Next up: IDLE
Back to the Top 10 and I still may have them lower then they should be but they throttled LSU. Redshirt frosh Jarrett Lee had no chance against that speed. They will rest this week and prepare for the rest of the SEC schedule.

#10 Utah 7-0 Beat Wyoming 40-7 Next up: Colorado St.
Utah is continuing its onslaught thru the Mountain West, but Wyoming is horrible. Colorado St. isn't much better the only benefit is that TCU and BYU both will have to come to Salt Lake to keep their BCS hopes alive.

#11 USC 4-1 Beat Arizona St. 28-0 Next up: @ Wash St.
This looks like a very mad team. They ended the season for ASU and have a very soft Pac -10 schedule ahead with only California being ranked. Mitch Mustain is better then Sanchez.

#12 Missouri 5-1 Lost Oklahoma St 23-28 Next up: @ #1 Texas
Hate to drop this team this far per they are better then this rank but can't lose at home when you want to make the National Title game. OSU looked just as fast and Chase and Dash looked human. The worst thing that can happen to Missouri is to have a hangover and feel sorry for itself, per the Horns are Higher then ever and if Missouri doesn't show it could get ugly, but also this is a game that can right the season if they win, so Horns prepare for a another tough game.

#13 LSU 4-1 Lost Florida 21-51 Next up: @ S.Carolina*
LSU inexperience at QB finally showed up against the gators. This kind of loss could lead to some questions and if it does the Gamecocks will be ready.

#14 Michigan St. 6-1 Beat NWestern 37-20 Next up: #4 Ohio St.
This will be the game of the week and finally the spotlight will be on one of the most underrated players in the country in Javon Ringer. This will be a statement game for both teams and with a win will solidify the Mark D'Antonio era. A loss straight back to just being a good team. Upset Alert.

#15 Kansas 5-1 Beat Colorado 30-14 Next up: @ #8 Oklahoma
I may have them still a little higher then most but they keep knocking them down, this week they will show if they belong. Jabba will be fed and ready.

#16 Boise St. 5-0 Beat S Miss 24-7 Next up: Hawaii
Another victim of the weak schedule but will all the losses every week, staying the course will be crucial for the Broncos. The poor Rainbows will be next on the blue turf hit list.

#17 Oklahoma St. 6-0 Beat Missouri 28-23 Next up: Baylor
I know I have them a lot lower then most but I will gradually move them up, per they hadn't played anyone up until Missouri and as long as they continue to take down teams they will move up quickly. This is a good football team and could be the darkhorse for the Big 12 South, who would have thought?

#18 TCU 6-1 Beat Colorado St 13-7 Next up: #5 BYU
Statement game alert, TCU's only loss is to OU and really need this game to position themselves for a run to the Top 10, this is one of the two games remaining(UTAH) to win the Mountain West. Aaron Brown should get some love in this one and people will know his name afterwards.

#19 VA Tech 5-1 IDLE Next up: @ BC*
Va Tech have one 4 straight and look like a player in the ACC this will be a revenge game with BC beating the Hokies in the regular season last year at home. Even though Va Tech beat them in the ACC championship, BC is needing this one to put them back in the Top 25.

#20 California 4-1 IDLE Next up: @ Arizona
Cal has won two straight since it's slip up against the Terrapins(how did that happen) and face a very dangerous in Arizona. Cal should watch out in this one.

#21 N. Carolina 5-1 Beat Notre Dame 29-24 Next up: @ Virginia
I know I have been late to the Tar Heel party, but they are the Tar Heels. Beating the Irish and posting a 5-1 record you have my attention. They better not get caught up in the press clippings with Virginia winning two straight. The Brandon Tate injury really hurts.

#22 Tulsa 6-0 Beat SMU 37-31 Next up: UTEP
Hurricane had a suprisingly tough time closing out SMU and June Jones. Conference USA will not provide the Hurricanes with enough moxie to move them up without alot of help. UTEP has been playing better as of late and will give Tulsa a tussle.

#23 Minnesota 6-1 Beat Illinois 27-20 Next up: IDLE
My Gophers have shocked the world and Tim Brewster has them believing. They have a week to enjoy the glow. The remainder of the schedule looks manageable and we may be discussing the Gopher in the Big 10 championship hunt. Can you believe it?

#24 Vanderbuilt 5-1 Lost @ Miss St. 14-17 Next up: @ #7 Georgia
Vandy's debacle and hangover against Miss St. should have them out of my Top 25. But since it was such a good win against Auburn they hang on by their fingertips. The Bulldogs are prepared to step on the fingers and helmets this week. Note to Vandy shock the Dawgs and you stay.

#25 USF 5-1 IDLE Next up: Syracuse
I really like Matt Grothe and.........Well that's it. The bye week was really needed and they will destroy the Cuse.

Terrelle Pryor looks like Vince Young, except the VY-led offenses actually scored touchdowns. It looks like you might be right about Minnesota though.

Now, I'm no Mark Sanchez fan, but give it up on Mitch Mustain. That guy will never see a meaningful snap in his football career.
