BP25-Week 4 Poll

Wow, the game really lived up to the hype! It was crazy out there for the big matchup of the two heavyweights. But somehow, someway they pulled it out just barely. Of Course I am talking about the Auburn, Mississippi, game with Chris Todd allowing just two earned over 8 innings of work. What game did you think I was talking about.
Well the Big 10 concrete shoes showed up again and put Ohio St back in the mix of good but not great teams this year. We started out the year with 7 teamns head and shoulders above the rest but now we are down to 5, so here is the BP 25:

1. USC (2-0) Beat Ohio St. 35-3 Next up: IDLE
This is the fastest team I have ever seen, Joe Mcknight is unreal, good luck PAC-10

2. Oklahoma (3-0) Beat @ Washington 55-14 Next up: IDLE
This is the 2nd fastest team and they destroyed the Huskies, also just 2 games before Texas.

3. Georgia (3-0) Beat @ S Carolina 14-7 Next up: @ Arizona St.
Well the game has lost the allure before Omar and Co. Took down the Devils. This game will be the season for ASU. This is Georgia's first non-conference road game since 1995. (Georgia Tech)

4. Florida(2-0) IDLE Next up: @ #21 Tennessee
I know Missouri is playing great, but I can't bump them over Tebow and Co. now if they lose to Tennessee........It won't happen. Also the team that has rushed for more yards has won 16 of the last 18 this series.

5. Missouri(3-0) Beat Nevada 69-17 Next up: Buffalo
Not a good time for Turner Gill to be going into Columbus, unless he suits up, He never lost to Missouri during his time at Nebraska, well here is your 1st Loss. Also Gary Pinkel has several MAC conference affiliations he was a Kent St graduate, Bowling Green WR coach, and Toledo Head Coach.

6. LSU (2-0) Beat UNT 41-7 Next up: @ #9 Auburn
The home team has won the last 8, so this one will be another under 20 point game. Another ugly game brought to you by DEFENSE.

7. Wisconsin (3-0) Beat @ Fresno St. 13-10 Next up: IDLE
Impressive win at Fresno, that will prime them for Big Ten play after the bye week. This is a tough football team.

8. Ohio St. (2-1) Lost @ #2 USC 3-35 Next up: Troy
I don't now if I dropped them enough but I am not sure any team can hang with the Trojans. But a average finish at Ohio and this blowout, the falling may not be done. This is Ohio St's first meeting with the Sun Belt but outlook doesn't look good for the Trojans as the Buckeyes are 43-1 at home versus non conference foes, the lone loss is too.....Vince Young and the Horns, someone call Vince's mom!

9. Auburn (3-0) Beat @ Mississippi St 3-2 Next up: # 6 LSU
Statement game for Auburn after that horrible showing at Mississippi St. The winner of this game has won the SEC West 6 of the last 8 years.

10. USF (3-0) Beat Kansas 37-34 in OT Next up: @ Florida Int.
Impressive win over a Big 12 team and they are the frontrunners in the very down Big East. USF is 7-1 versus teams from Florida the only loss is to Miami in 1995.

11. Texas (2-0) PPD Arkansas Next up: Rice
Game was postponed, but Arkansas isn't ready for the Horn. Fun stats for Rice Texas has won 37 of 38 and lone loss was in 1965. Also UT has topped 50 in the last three games and outscored them by 30 in the last 9. Rice is better this year so may keep it within 20.

12. Penn St (3-0) Beat @ Syracuse 55-13 Next up: Temple
Well they are moving on up but after Temple it is the Illni and will see if they are worth the ranking. Joe Pa is a perfect 24-0 versuse Temple and they held Temple to 4 yards rushing last year. Despite 21 returning starters for the Owls this will get ugly fast.

13. Texas Tech (3-0) Beat SMU 43-7 Next up: UMASS
This schedule will hurt the Raiders if they don't take care of business in the Big 12South, someone call Marcus Camby. Tech has averaged to outscore FCS teams by 60+.

14. Alabama (3-0) Beat W Kentucky 41-7 Next up: @ Arkansas
Could be a tricky game but 3 reasons why Alabama will win. No McFadden, No Felix and Bobby Petrino. The home team is 4-0 in the last 4 of this series.

15. Clemson (2-1) Beat NC St 27-9 Next up: SC State
Like a jilted girlfriend this team should be at the top if it wasn't for that shellacking they took from Bama, and a game against a FCS cupcake won't help.

16. Utah (3-0) Beat @ Utah St. 58-10 Next up: @ Air Force
The Falcons beat the Utes last year but Air Force didn't attempt a pass last week.....not 1 and still Won. Utah was stopped twice at the 1 in last year's game. Utes will roll.

17. Oregon (3-0) Beat @ Purdue 32-26 Next up: Boise St.
The Justin Roper injury and no Blue field really brings this game close to a push. Oregon seems to find ways to win and will turn to a freshman QB to get the job done. Ian Johnson is still with Broncos, doesn't seem like he has been there for 10 years, I wonder if he ever got married. Pre-nup until he makes the pro's I bet.

18. BYU (3-0) Beat UCLA 59-0 Next up: Wyoming
I probably have them a little lower then most but UCLA was a little overrated. But 59-0 is 59-0, if they continue their onslaught thru the MTN West, circle Nov 15 against the Utes. BYU has won 13 of the last 15.

19. Illinois (2-1) Beat UL-Lafayette 20-17 Next up: IDLE
Very lackluster performance for the Illini, they have alot to prove going into Big 10play after the bye with a trip to Happy Valley, rest up Juice.

20. Kansas (2-0) Lost USF 34-37 Next up: Sam Houston St.
I am not going to penalize the Jayhawks for a close game against a Top 12 team, but their margin for error is very small.

21. Tennessee (1-1) Beat UAB 35-3 Next up: #4 Florida
1st of 3 tough SEC games in the next 4 weeks. Last years game was Fulmers worst loss versus Florida in his tenure. and Florida held them to 37 yards rushing. Adrian Foster will have to step up to neutrilize the speed of Florida.

22. E Carolina (3-0) Beat @ Tulane 28-24 Next up: @ NC State
The game against Tulane is why I will not overrate ECU. W Virgina and VA Tech were overrated so tempered expectations. But all in all they are playing good ball. Skip stay the course and continue to go one game at a time. ECU is 10-15 against NC State.

23. TCU (3-0) Beat Stanford 31-14 Next up: @ SMU
They have beaten a tough New Mexico team and a tricky Stanford Team, we will really see what they are made of on 9/27 @ OU, but they comprise the 3rd Mountain West team in my Top 25. Since 1995 The home team is 9-3, Not quite yet June.

24. Nebraska (3-0) Beat New Mexico St. 38-7 Next up: IDLE
Well they have done what they are supposed to do, but the next two games after the bye will see what we really have.(Virginia Tech, Missouri). So get your rest Ganz you will need it.

25. Vanderbuilt (3-0) Beat Rice 38-21 Next up: @ Ole Miss
The Commodores make my Top 25. No not Lionel Richie. But Chris Nickson has got them to 3-0 and I am rewarding them with #25. The home team is 6-1 in this series and the Commordors are only 4-21 on the road under Bobby Johnson, so if they beat Ole Miss, it will be big. Jevan Sneed is waiting....

Teams On Deck
Wake Forest (2-0) IDLE Next up: @ Florida St.
Big game for Wake and lower level ranking is in the balance in this one.

Kentucky (3-0) Beat Middle Tenn St. 20-14 Next Up: IDLE
Despite only 12 returning starters they have only allowed 19 points all year.

Iowa (3-0) Beat Iowa St. 17-5 Next Up: @ Pittsburgh
Pitt will be ready to prove something and the Hawkeyes will be ready to get a ranking

Notre Dame (2-0) Beat Michigan 35-17 Next Up: @ Michigan St.
The Spartans will be ready for this one and Notre Dame is still in proving mode.

West Virginia (1-1) IDLE Next Up: @ Colorado
I brought back the Mountainers but it will take a win over the Buffs to keep them there. Good Luck.

UNLV (2-1) Beat @ Arizona St. 23-20 Next Up: Iowa St.
This is a good team and will face another challenge against Gene Chizik coming off a loss to rival Iowa.

Arizona St. (2-1) Lost UNLV 20-23 Next Up: #3 Georgia
How do erase a loss to a team you were supposed to beat? Beat Georgia.

UCLA (1-1) Lost BYU 0-59 Next Up: Arizona
Not sure why I have them still on the radar, I guess that win against Tennessee, but what a blowout. Arizona has the same offensive capability, could be the knock out punch for the Bruin.

Maryland (2-1) Beat California 35-27 Next Up: E Michigan
They looked good against Cal, but QB is still unsettled, they are here by pins and needles.

California (2-1) Lost Maryland 27-35 Next Up: IDLE
Cal almost came back from being down 17 but not enough the time change (10 am game) really played with the head of Cal in the First half. Jahvid Best deserves another chance.

Teams I have a eye on:
Arkansas, Northwestern, Minnesota, Indiana, Oklahoma St., Kansas St., Colorado, Florida St., N Carolina, UCONN, Air Force, Tulsa, Boise St., Ball St.
