BP Week 5- POLL

I know I am a little early but what a week, finally we had some great games. Here is my POLL going into Week 5

1. USC (2-0) IDLE Next up: @ Oregon St.
Two weeks since the blowout win over Ohio St., USC could come out sluggish, I doubt it. In the last 33 games against Oregon St, they have only lost twice. Trojans Roll.

2. Oklahoma (3-0) IDLE Next up: #21 TCU
With Georgia pushing the issue with that great schedule, OU must maximize TCU to remain at #2. Remember TCU upset them in 2005 but there is no 1.21 jiggawatts here, but if TCU stays close, Georgia or Florida moves up.

3. Georgia (4-0) Beat @ Arizona St. Next up: @ #11 Alabama
Georgia took care of business in the heat of Tempe and look to SEC schedule this week. They have won the last three against Alabama by a FG or less. So this should be another test for a strong Bulldog team.

4. Florida(3-0) Beat #21 Tennessee Next up: Ole Miss.
Florida looked just as fast as USC against Tennessee and they will be set to move up if they can tear thru the SEC schedule. Last year against the Rebs Tebow set a school QB rushing record with 166. Now he comes in with more talent around him. Wow this could get ugly.

5. Missouri(4-0) Beat Buffalo Next up: IDLE
Turner Gill's team put up a decent showing but Missouri is in another league. The only thing that can keep Daniel and Maclin from scoring is there opponnet this week. So watch out.

6. LSU (3-0) Beat #9 Auburn Next up: Mississippi St.
LSU makes a statement in Auburn and joins the elite at the top of poll. Sylvester Croom and his Bulldogs are a whopping 1-15 in the last 16 years. Way too many weapons for LSU in this one, but maybe my partner will continue to push the Mississippi St Kool-aid. I don't think so on this one.

7. Wisconsin (3-0) IDLE Next up: @ Michigan
After a week off, the badgers start out big 10 play with Michigan whom they have beaten Michigan in the Big House just once since 1965. With Ohio St. next they better not overlook the young Wolves.

8. Texas (3-0) Beat Rice Next up: IDLE
Well as much as hate the Longhorns, they keep blowing everyone out. They haven't really played anyone yet but they look really sharp. After the bye week, they start Big 12 play and a trip to Boulder could show us if we have a legitimate player for the BCS Crown or just another good team with one loss.

9. Ohio St. (3-1) Beat Troy Next up: Minnesota
Another lackluster performance against a very mediocre team in Troy. Terrelle Pryor looked good and if he takes over it could be the jumpstart this team needs. The Buckeyes are 17-1 against the Gophers in Columbus, but the Gophers are 4-0 and are at the door to get into the Top 25. With a win here they may get there. This is another look ahead factor with Wisconsin up next. Don't overlook the Gopher, Bill Murray overlooked the Gopher in Caddyshack and look what happened.

10. Penn St (4-0) Beat Temple Next up: #18 Illinois
The opponets haven't exactly been world beaters(Coastal Carolina, Syracuse, Temple) but this offense is clicking and the defense has only allowed 4 TD's all year. Illinois is up next and it is a must win for Illni, so this is a gut check for Penn St. Penn St had 4 turnovers last year that really hurt there chances. But no MoreMorelli so it should be a different story.

11. Alabama (4-0) Beat Arkansas Next up: @ #3 Georgia
This is a legitimate contender and we will see how much of one this week. Bama dismantle Arkansas and RB Coffee looked great. Saban has the Tide rolling in like IKE to Galveston(is it too soon?) This will be another big game for Bama(Clemson) so they will be ready for anything.

12. USF (4-0) Beat Florida International Next up: @ N C ST
USF was very pedestrian against FIU and it may have been just a hang over from the Kansas game. Going to Raliegh the sight of the Pack upset of ECU, USF won't take the Pack lightly. Look for USF to put NC ST back where they belong.

13. BYU (4-0) Beat Wyoming Next up: IDLE
Wow the Cougar is for real. They have outscored there last two foes 103-0!!!! There next big game is over 3 weeks away against TCU. If they keep taking care of business, they could make some major damage in the BCS. Max Hall is a stud.

14. Utah (4-0) Beat Air Force Next up: Weber St.
It was a tough one but Utah got past the very diciplined Falcons. Utah will be fighting against their division rival BYU for the right to be called BCS Darling, they will be feasting on cupcakes this week, which may hurt them in the chase for BCS.

15. Texas Tech (4-0) Beat UMASS Next up: IDLE
The Red Raiders dropped a little in my poll even though they beat UMASS, but you have to punish TTech for approving this schedule(E Washington, Nevada, SMU and UMASS) After the bye they start Big 12 play with a trip to Manhatten to see the Wildcats.

16. Auburn (3-1) Lost to #6 LSU Next up: Tennessee
Auburn just couldn't keep up with the speed of LSU and the coaching of Les Miles. Tommy Tuberville is a joke. Next up is a Tennessee team that will be looking to try to win something to piece there season back together.

17. Clemson (3-1) Beat SC State Next up: Maryland
Clemson will actually play someone in the majors this week, finally! After facing the tough Citadel and SC State, this will be a game that Clemson must win and must win handily. James Davis issued a guarantee last time these two played and then delivered. They will do the same this week. On their way to back to being a contender, and Alabama can upset Georgia.....

18. Illinois (2-1) IDLE Next up: @ #10 Penn St.
The bye week is what the Illni needed with Nittany Lions up next. This will be another statement game for Juice, per the Illini cannot afford another loss. But if the Juice can do what he did last year against Joe Pa it could vault them up the rankings.

19. Wake Forest (3-0) Beat Florida St. Next up: Navy
Sam Swank wasn't his normal self but at just 50% it was enough to beat the noles. I may have them ranked a bit high but they are solid on both sides of the ball and don't make mistakes. Also they have won 4 straight against Navy.

20. Kansas (3-1) Beat Sam Houston St. Next up: IDLE
Well Jabba and Jayhawks are at the bye with only 1 loss and that is one to many. They start Big 12 play after the bye with a trip to Ames. Time for the Jayhawks to make some noise and prove there is no sophomore jinx.

21. TCU (4-0) Beat SMU Next up: @ #2 Oklahoma
Well the barometer is this week has only faced 4 ranked teams in the past 5 years and they are 2-2 and one of those wins was in 2005 against Oklahoma, unlike their two other MWC teams in the polls, TCU scheduled a big dog in the BCS title picture. If somehow they can pull off the upset the MWC could become better then the PAC10 and Big East.

22. Vanderbuilt (4-0) Beat Ole Miss Next up: IDLE
If you would have told Bobby Johnson that by the time the bye week came around he would be 4-0 and ranked he wouldn't have believed it, but the Commodores are playing well. After the bye however the fairy tale could be over as Auburn comes to town.

23. UNLV (3-1) Beat Iowa St. Next Up: Nevada
Yes I have 4 Mountain West teams in my Top 25. They could all be there for a while! UNLV and Omar Clayton took care of ISU in OT and their only loss is to Utah. HC Mike Sanford had 6 career wins coming into this year, and is halfway there this year. Call Larry Johnson and Stacey Augmon to come to the sidelines because they may not be here long.

24. Nebraska (3-0) IDLE Next up: Virginia Tech
If only Sean Glennon was still the QB, it would have been a easy one, but with Frank Beamer seeing what he had he took the red shirt off of Tyrod Taylor and now they have won 3 straight. This will be Nebraska's first test and has the look ahead factor with Missouri Looming.

25. Colorado (3-0) Beat W Virginia Next up: Florida St.
If this team is worthy of being here they will keep on winning. The scheduled a good non conference with W Virginia and Florida St. So Cody Hawkins will have to continue his steady play. Florida St. really needs this one.
